9.27.06 Crusin' for a Cure
This past Saturday, 9/23, marked the 7th Annual Crusin' for a Cure car show in Costa Mesa, CA. This year's show raised over $279,000 for the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center to research a cure for prostate cancer. There were over 3400 vehicles registered for this years show, including several cars from Overhaulin'!
Check out some photos sent to me of the overhauled cars at the show as well as the event's website. Next year they're giving away a Dearborn Downs roadster designed by Chip Foose!

9.19.06 Overhaulin' Book Coming....well, sometime
A new paperback by Dain Gingerelli featuring the cars of Overhaulin' has been expected for months. The book, with a forward by the man himself, Chip Foose, was originally scheduled for release April '06, was then pushed back to October of this year, and is now available for pre-sale through Amazon for April 2007 (although Barnes and Noble still lists the release as 10/15/06)!
What's the hold-up? I don't know...maybe they're waiting to overhaul a certain green 69 Camaro from North Carolina.
I also found it strange that the cover art isn't the actual Overhaulin' logo...Maybe the producers of the show or the network itself aren't totally behind this project? Maybe this just isn't the final cover (what do I know)?

9.15.06 Foose Hemisfear coming to SEMA 2006
As has been reported around the web for months, Chip Foose has partnered with die cast car manufacturer, JL Full Throttle to bring one of his longest-standing projects to fruition. The company is currently in production of a 1:1 scale model of Foose's Hemisfear concept.
The Hemisfear was a project that Foose completed around 1990, prior to his graduation from Art Center. The concept was so influential at the time, that it promted Plymouth to partner with Foose to design their Prowler production vehicle. Now the world gets to see Foose's real vision!
The vehicle will be unveiled at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas. Here's what to expect:
The car will be powered by a new Dodge 6.1 liter HEMI, fitted with a Hilborne injection system, expected to pump out 600+ hp and 550 ft lbs of torque. The car will ride on a custom Hotchkis suspension, MHT (Foose) wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires, custom 6 piston Baer brake calipers, and sport a custom Stainless Works exhaust system.
To follow the build as they prepare for the big show, visit JLFT's blog. Can't wait to see the finished product!
